The Da Vinci Code

I think it is really funny that the Catholics and a lot of other churches are denouncing The Da Vinci Code, especially the movie. They imply that it is non-Christian to read such things. Maybe it is just me, but if somebody denounces something so strongly, it seems like they are hiding something and it would make me want to read the book even more. I did read the book over Christmas break in less than a day. Tiffany got it for me for Christmas. I couldn't stop! I thought it was fabulous. It would be nice if some people would lighten up and be more open minded.

I still have to read Angels and Demons, another of Dan Brown's bestsellers. Some people like it better than the others.

I just finished reading Wuthering Heights. I had never read it before, and it is Tiffany's favorite. I could not stand Heathcliff, but I thought that it was a good gothic book. The atmosphere was incredible.

Right now, I don't think I really have time to start and finish another novel. These are going to be a few busy days before I return.

i hate how churches denouce things like that. i think a person should be able to choose for themselves. like with harry potter. the christians who were against it didnt even read it to judge for themselves. if the read it and still were against it, well then ok. but man. that IS annoying. i havent read the da vinci code yet.

Yeah, the Harry Potter series seems harmless enough to me. Our minister even bought the books for her grandson...hahahahahaha. I can kind of see why the Catholics are in arms against the book. It talks about the Catholic sect, Opus Dei, and how they will murder to get what they want. Also, if some of the things in the book are true, it would mean that the Catholic Church, especially, was founded on lies and deception. Nevertheless, I don't think they should have made a big deal about it. They are only drawing more attention to the book. You should certainly read it--a great grail quest making some interesting points!
